As part of OEG’s commitment to nurturing skills and knowledge in our community, Leigh-Anne Watt, Tax Manager for the OEG Group of companies, recently visited Whitehills School in Banff, Aberdeenshire as part of their ‘World of Work’ initiative.

Leigh-Anne introduced the P5/6 and P6/7 pupils to the world of finance and accountancy and her role as a Tax Manager at OEG.

The children learned all about the routes they could take to become an accountant, and the difference between a certified accountant and a chartered accountant. Leigh-Anne also showed the children examplars of some of her work and how it involves working with complex calculations.

In addition, Leigh-Anne discussed the types of software she uses in her role beyond MS Excel and how an understanding of critical software is important in their next stage of learning and into employment.

Ricky Malloy-Thomson, Teacher of Primary 6/7 commented, “Thank you so much again Leigh-Anne for meeting with our P5/6 and P6/7 pupils and thank you for also gifting the school with pencils and rulers.”
