OEG Offshore (OEG) has supported offshore exploration and construction in Africa for more than 15 years via established partnerships and more recently with the commitment to permanent subsidiaries in the Republic of Congo and Senegal.
The expanded network allows OEG to support key customers locally with a full range of offshore certified cargo carrying units (CCUs) in the African Atlantic littoral as well as deliver extended services such as recertification, maintenance and repairs. This investment is part of the OEG on-going strategy to offer customers immediate local access to high quality, certified and safe CCUs in support of their offshore operations.
OEG has secured long-term rental contracts including the supply of an additional two hundred standard DNV 2.7-1 cargo carrying units as part of an ongoing rental contract for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) gas field on the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal.
Other rental contracts include a long-term contract for the supply of containers and baskets for the Sangomar oilfield, with the final tranche of 70 units mobilised in June 2022 in anticipation of the arrival of the Ocean Blackhawk drillship. OEG will also provide several different offshore CCU types to support operations at the Agogo deepwater oil and gas field in Block 15/06, offshore Angola.
Donald Guthrie, OEG Offshore’s Operations Director – International comments, “The establishment of OEG Offshore SUARL has extended the arc of our West African capabilities westwards to the Atlantic. Customers now have access to OEG’s full range of container solutions from bases in Angola, Congo, Gabon, Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal”.
OEG Offshore continue to support projects in all the key oil and gas provinces across the continent with a mix of CCUs designed, manufactured, and tested in accordance with international industry standards.
